* (파리 AP·AFP) 이집트가 프랑스로부터 군함 2척을 구매하기로 합의했다고 프랑스 정부가 23일 밝혔다.

프랑수아 올랑드 프랑스 대통령과 압델 파타 엘시시 이집트 대통령은 이날 "양국이 미스트랄급 공격용 군함 2척에 대한 판매 조건에 합의했다"고 엘리제궁이 전했다.

[News] 해군초계기 S-3B Viking 12기 도입

* 해군이 미국 대잠수함 초계기 '바이킹'을 12대 도입하는 방안을 검토 중이다.

국방부는 지난달 말 전력소요검증위원회를 열고 바이킹 도입대수를 20대에서 12대로 줄였다. 애초 해군은 바이킹 20대를 도입할 것을 계획했지만 비용이 300억원에서 600억원으로 올라가면서 도입 대수가 줄어든 것으로 전해졌다.

국방부는 내부 검토를 거쳐 바이킹 도입여부를 결정할 방침이다.

한편 일각에서는 바이킹이 2009년부터 활용되지 않은 점을 근거로 이미 퇴역한 기종을 도입하려 한다는 비판이 제기되고 있다. 바이킹은 1970년대에 생산된 것으로 전투기 무덤이라고 불리는 미국 애리조나주 투산 사막 공군기지에 70~80대가 쌓여있는 것으로 알려졌다.
